Egerton Grey opened as a small luxurious country house hotel in early 1988. Decorated with fine antiques, porcelain and paintings. The house's historic character - it dates from the 17th Century and was a rectory in Victorian times - has been preserved. In addition to the antiques, there are restored Edwardian bathrooms, original brasswork, open fireplaces, ornate mouldings and mahogany and oak paneling.
A feature of the hotel is its location set in a wooded valley away from all main roads. Set in seven acres of gardens' with views down to Porthkerry Park and the sea, it has two dining rooms, a restful Library and a Edwardian Drawing room.
There are ten bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms and direct dial telephone colour satellite teletext television and radio trouser press and hairdryer tea and coffee making facilities
