Fifehead Manor Hotel Hotel, Middle Wallop, Hampshire

Fifehead Manor Hotel, Middle Wallop, Hampshire

The foundations of this lovely Manor House date from the 11th century when it was owned by the wife of the Saxon Earl of Godwin whose son, King Harold, was killed at the Battle of Hastings. Today, Fifehead Manor offers all the comfort of a country house hotel but, with its barns and stables surrounded by acres of gardens, the historic atmosphere lingers.

The beamed dining room with its lead-paned windows and huge open fireplace has a atmosphere illuminated by the light of flickering candles. It is believed to have been the main hall of the mediaeval manor and the remains of the Minstrels' Gallery can still be seen.

The hotel's award winning cuisine is outstanding and the restaurant is featured in major guides in England and Europe. Local products ate delivered daily whilst the freshest vegetables, fruit and herbs are picked from the kitchen garden. All 15 en-suite bedrooms are individually furnished.
